Our girl Sallie

Bobo and I have been looking for a a dog. We've wanted one for a while but had decided this summer we would actually start a hunt for a pooch of our own. In July we started our search and had found a sweet Mastiff but that didn't work out. So this past thursday we decided to go to our local shelter Wayside Waifs to just take a look. When we first walked in to the front desk there was a cute little Border Collie mix pup running around all the desks and looking for anyone to pet her. We were asked if we wanted to meet her so we went around the counter and ended up falling for Sallie right away. She was not what we had wanted (being only 8 months old) we were hoping for an older dog, but after looking at several other dogs and a few playtime visits, we came back to Sallie again and again. I knew it was her even more so when we saw a family watching us play with her and even frequent her cage and I got a bit territorial. Bobo got a little worried and said if we waited she might not be there the next day. So after a quick debate on if we could take her on now, if she was "our pup" and if we could get the apartment ready in less then 24 hours, we put a deposit hold on her and I had an appointment to pic her up the next afternoon. We rushed home and all the things we'd been wanting to get done in the next week we got done in 3 hours.
So little Sallie is ours, happy and somewhat well. She sadly has kennelcough and some eye goopiness. We believe she is too smart for her own good already but such a lover! She does so well with lots of people and as soon as she is over her cough we hope to start introducing her to the other dogs in the complex. It's kind of sad we have to keep her away from them right now cause when we go for walks and if she sees them, she whines, barks a little and wags her tail like crazy! We are still adjusting but so far so good on potty training and crate! For more pics check out my facebook.
